Lifehacker is carrying a post on The Most Ticketed Cars on the Road with data analyze by ISO Quality Planning, an outfit that help’s insurance companies quantify risk. Based on traffic data on 1.7 million drivers, it looks like the biggest ticket magnets are Hummers and the Scion tC, receiving, on average 463% and 460% each. Interesting enough, the Jaguar ZJ and Chevrolet Suburban picked up the fewest tickets at 11% and 16%.

In descending order the most ticketed are:

- Hummer H2/H3
- Scion tC
- Scion XB
- Mercedes Benz CLK63 AMG
- Toyota Solara Coupe
- Mercedes Benz CLS63 AMG
- Scion XA
- Subaru Outback
- Audi A4
- Toyoa Matrix

In ascending order of least ticketed we have:

- Jaguar XJ sedan
- Chevrolet Suburban
- Chevrolet Tahoe
- Chevrolet C/K – 3500/2500 pickup
- Buick Park Avenue
- Mazda6
- Buick Rainier
- Oldsmobile Silhouette
- Buick Lucerne
- GMC Sierra C1500 pickup

It’s long been a matter of urban mythology that the most expensive cars are the ones the cops just love to ticket, but this study would seem to suggest that’s not the case. So, if you’re in the market for new wheels, have a tendency to encounter the man with the ticket book, and need to lower your insurance premiums, this list might be worth a little study before you hit the showrooms.
