APEAL-ing Cars

The long-term effects of the automotive industry crisis have been hotly debated for months, with most pundits suggesting that the best outcome would not just be a leaner business model for troubled giants like GM and Chrysler, but products that perform at a higher standard and do a better job of satisfying customers’ real wants. According to the results of the 2009 J.D. Power and Associates Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) Study, that may indeed be happening.

All-new and redesigned models performed exceptionally well this year, with particular accolades going to the Dodge Challenger, the Ford F-150, the Ford Flex, Hyundai Genesis, Nissan Maxima, Volkswagen CC, and Volkswagen Tiguan.
